It was an ancient messapic town situated upon a hill with the same name, on the outskirts of what is now part of the district of Patù. Vereto was first mentioned by the great historian Erodoto at the beginning of the fifth century B.C. According to the Greek historian, the Cretans, sailing along the Iapigia valley to get from Greece to Sicily, found themselves caught in a huge storm and cast ashore on the coast of Leuca, where they built the town of Iria and then others nearby. Consequently the Cretans changed their name into Iapigi-Messapi.  Continued…..........

It is perfectly located within easy reach of Santa Maria di Leuca, Gallipoli, the little port of Castro and Otranto.

This beautiful villa offers two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom, large dining room and separate living room with sofa and tv. The roofed veranda is also furnished and ideal for breakfast or to relax and enjoy the sea breeze. There is plenty of outdoor space with solarium and barbecue, and ample parking space.

 

Also available is a self contained studio apartment  facilities, bathroom, private veranda and own parking space.
